When danger and destruction threaten, we all seek a safe harbor. In its long history, Provincetown as a community has provided that protection many times for many people. In 1981 like a dark storm, the AIDS epidemic swept across the planet. This documentary is the history of one community's struggle to come to grips with its own prejudices and fears and to become a leader is caring for people with AIDS and advocating for services. The history covers the years 1981 to the present and offers education about the current situation.
