Masashi Hirata
Kyōto, Kyōto Prefecture, Japan
Born in Kyoto in 1947. Applies himself to image studies in Tokyo after working with a documentary production of the anti CTS battle in Okinawa. Returning to Kyoto in 1983, founds Voyant Cinémathèque with five filmmakers residing in the Kansai area. Since then, as a central member, he has been expanding vigorous cinémathèque activities in Kyoto, Osaka and Kobe.
