ZZ sounds exactly as “perseverance” in Chinese, which aptly describes the hard work and determination of a young dancer and choreographer.
ZZ is a professional dancer in City Contemporary Dance Company, after graduating with first honor from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where she is on a full scholarship. A versatile artist, she has years of experience in Chinese ink painting and ballroom dance. She has danced in 11 countries, including some esteemed festivals and events, including the Helsinki Festival, Finland; the World Dance Alliance Global Summit, Canada; Centre National de la Danse (CND) in France. An adventurous spirit cultivates her insight into art, and life.
She has created 5 short films. “Over Here?” was commissioned by Jumping Frames International Dance Video Festival 2020. "Moon Paradox I" was selected by Body Motion Short Film Festival 2020 in Taipei. “ Blank” was a finalist of the Jumping Frames Competition 2016. “My White” was shot in the Venice Biennale of Architecture on 2016.
She is an artist who focuses on purposes, methods and forms of the human body. Now she is venturing into the challenging new territory of virtual reality, experimenting with motion capture, participating in online residency, and initiating artistic research and creative projects.
