Karry Johnson

Karry Johnson was born on January 8, 1985, in Pensacola, Florida. As the youngest of thirteen children in a lower-middle-class family, Johnson's early life was marked by the turbulence and unpredictability caused by his father's alcoholism. Seeking solace, he found refuge in movies, immersing himself in their stories to escape his reality.

Driven by a passion for cinema and a vivid imagination, Johnson pursued formal education in film at The Los Angeles Film School. There, he honed his craft and developed a unique style, particularly gravitating towards the horror genre. Johnson's screenplays often delve into the surreal and macabre, reflecting his admiration for the unconventional.

This distinctive storytelling approach culminated in Johnson's directorial debut, the short film "Swipe Right." This surrealist, neo-noir, horror thriller pays homage to David Lynch, one of Johnson's favorite filmmakers, and showcases his ability to blend the bizarre with the suspenseful.
