Wendell & Wild

I'm a huge fan of stop-motion animation and of Henry Selick, but this film has been quite disappointing. It is nothing compared to 'Nightmare bedore Christmas' and 'Coraline'.

Animation is great, even though I would have preferred some more "old style" techniques, such as less green screens and computer effects, but it was very good overall.

The big problem is the plot, there's too much in it. And you can't get what this film is for, children or adults?

About the characters, they're not enough developed. You can't sympathize with anyone.

You should watch it if you like stop-motion, but don't expect anything exceptional.

"Wendell & Wild tells a simple yet beautiful story about the grieving process and how people who have gone through it have as much or more potential to change the future.

It doesn't reinvent the narrative wheel, being a screenplay close to the usual formulas, but as a stop-motion animation fanatic, the impressive visual quality is more than enough to grab this viewer. Despite the central theme and the characters needing to be more detailed, it's still a viewing that I consider mandatory, especially for families."
