Tom Petty was one of the most successful rockers of his generation;his unique blend of country, blues, rock, and psychedelia earned him and his bands a cult following from around the world. This is the journey of Tom Petty, The Heartbreaker.
This is basically an unauthorized documentary based on Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. However it features none of the band or no one who actually worked with him. It's just a 55min recount about Toms upbringing, his rise to fame and eventual death by of a bunch of no name numphy's (apparent rock journalists/historians).
The film itself is loosely based around the 911 call received (which you can barely hear anyway), some fan footage of presumably his last concert, existing news clips and of course said numphys opionions.
Give it a hard pass and find another documentary about him. "Running Down A Dream" although longer, is a far more in depth documentary about the band in their own words.
