At the West Tower in Manchester, interior designer Sarah is busy decorating the last of the four penthouse suites for a millionaire client. Sarah has six weeks and thousands of pounds to transform the empty penthouse, ordering bespoke furniture to fill the huge space on the 44th floor.
Just a few miles away on the edge of the city centre, there is a huge new redevelopment scheme planned. The Northern Gateway hopes to bring nearly 15,000 new properties to the north of the city, but some locals are worried what it could mean for them as their homes are being proposed for demolition.
At a consultation event, Anne and Donna learn a tower block is proposed near their homes. For Donna, the clock is ticking. Her elderly father is bed-bound and desperate to know how long they will be able to live in their family home.
