Gadget Boy & Heather is an animated series about a bionic kid-detective.
I thought it was pretty mediocre and that's about it, but i realized that this was just a shameless ripoff of "A Pup Named Scooby-Doo" which made me like this
even less. I mean Gadget being brainless moron is a little more excusable in this case because he's only a kid, but that just makes me think of why the scientist
would make such an advanced robot into a baby. The show easily has the worse animation in any of these Inspector Gadget shows, even beating out Field Trip, but I think it's
because DIC wanted to emulate the success of Pup Named Scooby-Doo by copying it's art style, tone, and music. I think since the DIC animators weren't
used to the Pup Named Scooby-Doo art style, it made the quality of the animation really poor. The comedy of the show doesn't really save it though. The
vulture named Boris really kinda enjoyable for a while, but his whole shtick got really old and stale. Spydra was somewhat enjoyable. Her writing isn't that
great, but the voice actor does a pretty decent job and I like that Boris isn't afraid to just call her ugly, I mean based vulture. Spydra's world domination plan
doesn't make a lot of sense though. She wants to rule the world (I mean that's a pretty standard motivation, but it could be fun) by stealing famous artifacts
and/or monuments from across the world... What? How does stealing famous junk help conquer the world? Are countries really that desperate to keep tourist
attractions that they would surrender control of their respective countries? IDK, but it all just feels like a flimsy excuse to sneak geography in here until they
just decided to make a full on educational Inspector Gadget geography program. G-9 was honestly really annoying, the squeaky sound he made was really
irritating and the fact the that he can just conveniently morph into anything really deflated the tension because you know he can just get anyone out of a
situation. I don't what else i can talk about it's just shameful ripoff on top of being extremely unengaging, uninspired, and just a drag to watch
But Dabble being a simp was ahead of it's time
